The domain
A place, a story, a region, a know-how
Located at the foot of the village of Rasteau, between Orange and Vaison-la-Romaine, Domaine Beau Mistral covers 29 hectares of vineyards across several appellations of the Southern Rhône Valley. It holds a privileged position alongside the great crus of the region, such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas.
Coming from a long line of winegrowers, Jean-Marc Brun founded his own cellar in 1999, driven by the ambition to craft wines that reflect his personality. At his side, his wife Sandrine has always played an active role in the estate, bringing her energy and sensitivity to both hospitality and daily management.
Today, the story continues with their son Florian, who has joined the estate to carry on the family legacy while bringing a fresh vision. Together with his partner Charlotte, Florian forms a dedicated duo that represents the new generation of the Domaine. United, they cultivate with passion their love for wine and terroir, blending tradition and innovation within a profoundly family-driven spirit.
Above all, Domaine Beau Mistral is a family story, where each generation — and each member — shares their passion and expertise.
The vineyard, composed largely of old vines, some 60 to 90 years old, extends over the best terroirs in the village. Clinging to the hillsides, the vines are cultivated with respect for the environment. The soil is plowed to encourage deep rooting, and the harvest is done by hand, with careful sorting on the table.
Committed to sustainable viticulture, Jean-Marc and Florian combine ancestral know-how with modern techniques. Always in search of excellence, they recently introduced aging in terracotta doliums to explore new expressions of the terroir. This commitment translates into elegant and balanced wines, regularly awarded medals and cited in numerous guides. It is also certified High Environmental Value (HVE), a guarantee of agriculture that respects biodiversity and ecosystems.
Nestled in the commune of Rasteau, a terroir of intense colors and generous nature. Nestled on a mountain range, it offers an exceptional landscape facing Mont Ventoux, the Dentelles de Montmirail and the Prealps. Here, everything contributes to the aromatic richness of the wines: a marked Mediterranean climate, varied soils, and emblematic grape varieties of the Rhône Valley – Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre – which flourish under the burning sun, tempered by the breath of the Mistral.
From this exceptional land are born powerful and balanced red wines, but also the famous Vins Doux Naturels de Rasteau, a specificity that has contributed to the reputation of the appellation since its origins.
